 Residence in Wausau Wisconsin

Synopsis

Our organization was contacted on April 13, 2015 by the client, regarding some possible paranormal activity that has been occurring at the site of her home located on the North side of Wausau over the past several years. I spoke with the client on April 14, 2015 by telephone and collected information pertaining to the history of the home as well as the haunting activity. The home was built in approximately 1935 and was largely occupied by the Utecht family over the years. I was unable to find any other specific information regarding the site which is typical when dealing with a private residence. The client is married and lives in the home with her husband and two children. The client has lived at the site for approximately 10 years. The client's husband’s father and mother own the property.

Unfortunately due to sickness and the death of the client’s mother in May, our investigation was unable to take place until August 2015.

Paranormal Activity Reported

In an interview conducted by telephone with the client on April 14, 2015 the following activity was noted as occurring in the home and is listed below:

·        Strong feeling of being watched, especially in the upstairs children’s bedrooms, the staircase leading to those bedrooms and the basement.

·        Client was scratched on her arm in her son’s bedroom with no explanation as to how the scratches occurred.

·        Client’s son has claimed to have seen three different ghosts in the home.

·        A particular electronic toy that is located in the client’s son’s bedroom once activated twice on its own with no explanation as to how.

·        Client has had her necklace tugged on from behind her while sitting in her living room.

·        Client has once felt a very cold sensation on both of her arms while seated in her living room.

·        A child’s toy had unexplainable movement in the living room area without the aid of human intervention.

·        While the client was in her bathroom she observed a hand towel raise and then lower without explanation.

Investigation

The WPRS investigated the home on Friday August 14, 2015 from approximately 7:00PM to 11:30PM.  Investigators Blaschka, Duginski, Beaudry, and Spialek were present.  Blaschka arrived at the client’s property at 5:30PM and she gave him a tour of the property and explained where the above activity had occurred in the home. After the tour of the property was complete, the rest of the team returned at 7PM to conduct the investigation.

Basic equipment used during the investigation included digital cameras, digital voice recorders, Tri Field Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) meters, Geiger counter, infrared and full spectrum cameras, REM Pod, vibration sensors and infrared/ambient thermal probes.

We obtained temperature, EMF readings and radiation readings as well as prepared a sketch of the homes floor plan. Many infrared and full spectrum photographs were taken in various areas inside the home. Several digital photographs were taken of the inside and outside of the building. During this time while Blaschka was standing in the doorway to the bathroom he felt a light tap on top of his head. What caused this personal experience could not be explained outright.

The main level had temperatures between 79 and 81 degrees F, with EMF readings ranging from .2 to 1.8 Milligauss. Geiger counter readings were low with no notable measurement. The basement temperature was 70 to 78 degrees F with EMF readings ranging 6.0 to 20.0 Milligauss. These higher readings were static in nature due to the electrical breaker box and several other higher voltage items in the area. Geiger counter readings were once again low. The second floor had temperatures between 80 and 81 degrees with EMF readings ranging 0.2 to 8.0 Milligauss throughout. Geiger readings were low and normal. During the collection of our base line readings we found no anomalous EMF or temperature variances that could not be explained reasonably. The only reading that was of concern was a higher reading captured near Brooklyn’s bed. This higher field runs the entire East wall of the upstairs area. The high field is not paranormal but manmade.

After our base readings were collected we formed into a group to perform an EVP session in the living room/dining room area. We also performed an EVP session in the upstairs bedroom area. All of the team used digital voice recorders to try to collect audio evidence of paranormal activity (Electronic Voice Phenomena or EVP.) We used a Rem-Pod during our EVP sessions as a possible communication device. We also placed vibration sensors in each child’s bedroom. During our EVP session in the living room one of the vibration sensors alarmed. Unfortunately we were unable to get upstairs in time to see which unit alarmed as it had automatically reset.

Upon later review of all our EVP evidence we found nothing of interest. We reviewed our Full Spectrum and Infrared photographs in the WPRS command center. None of the photos contained anything paranormal in nature.

During the investigation we spoke out loud several times to whatever presence may happen to be in the building. We relayed the fact that the family that resides at the property does not want to be disturbed any further. We set down ground rules that need to be followed and made it absolutely clear that nothing is allowed to be upstairs when any of the family members are there.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Upon review and consideration of all the claims made by the client we feel that it may be possible that the clients have been experiencing paranormal activity. However no definitive evidence was obtained to prove or disprove the claims. The vibration alarm that sounded during the evening was interesting in the fact that we could not reasonably explain what caused it to alarm, and the tap on Blaschka’s head we could not reasonably explain either. Alone this evidence lends some credibility to what has been happening at the site but it is by no means proof positive of a haunting. The activity that has been described by the family has not been harmful but rather unsettling. It is our hope that through the use of communication and setting the ground rules in the home that it will render anything present to become peaceful.
