Private home - Hwy 29, Tigerton, WI

05/27/2025

History of Location

Investigators Christiansen and Thelen-Brazier initially met with Client 1 for a pre-investigation visit on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM CST.

The home is located on the north side of State Highway 29 in the Tigerton, WI area.

Client 1 provided a tour and was accompanied by her children K.M., V.M., and L.M., along with V.M.’s girlfriend M.S., all of whom reported witnessing unexplained activity (detailed below).

The client purchased the home in 2010 and has lived there for 15 years. As the home sits close to the eastbound lanes of Hwy 29, it falls within the boundaries of a highway expansion project. Due to this, no major structural changes or repairs have been made.

In the basement, the initials AAK with the date 7/6/41 are inscribed in the concrete, though no connection has yet been made.

In-depth Backstory of the Property: ‘What Happened to Original Owner, Fr. B?’

Paranormal Activity Reported by Client

  • Singing heard from the storage area near V.M.’s room

  • Stomping and pacing sounds from the same storage area directly above the dining room

  • Storage area door pushed open on its own; resistance felt when trying to close it

  • V.M. has heard his name called; M.S. heard a whisper of “V.M.”

  • K.M. has been touched multiple times and experiences headaches

  • Father (previous head of household) reported visions instructing him to hang himself, and had his leg pulled in the basement crawlspace

  • Cans and bottles tipping over on their own in multiple rooms

  • Occasional musty/old cigarette smell (possibly from old pipes/ventilation)

  • Shadowy figure in living room

  • Dishes rustling in empty kitchen sink

  • Photo captured with strange shadows outside K.M.’s bedroom window

  • M.S. dreamed of V.M. being hung, with a figure holding the rope

  • Repeated knocking on walls/ceilings inside closets

  • Electronic dartboard activating on its own

  • M.S. feels watched and hears footsteps on the stairs at night

Client reports the stomping began around July 2022 after a severe thunderstorm. V.M., home alone, heard knocking on various windows and doors followed by loud footsteps upstairs. When he tried to re-enter the house later, stomping occurred just inside the doorway, prompting him to leave.

Investigation Summary

The WPRS team arrived on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM CST.

Weather conditions were partly cloudy, no wind, approximately 72 °F.

Client 1 was present to let the team into the home and to detail some of the reported activity for those not in attendance at the pre-investigation on Tuesday, May 27. She then left for the remainder of the evening. Two pet cats were in the home but did not impede the investigation.

Investigators present: Boller, Brown, Christiansen, Kasper, Scheibe, Thelen-Brazier, and Zuke.

Equipment used:

  • Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system with infrared cameras

  • Cellphone cameras

  • K-2 EMF detectors

  • Tri-field EMF detectors

  • EMF Tripwire

  • Spirit box

  • Digital voice recorders

  • Motion detectors (“cat balls”)

  • Structured Light Sensor (SLS) via app

  • 360° voice recorder

  • Thermal imager

  • REM Pod

Camera placement:

Five infrared cameras were set up and connected to the DVR:

  • K.M.’s room

  • V.M.’s room

  • Storage room

  • Kitchen

  • Basement

Due to using wireless cameras, no outdoor shed camera was installed, but a 360° voice recorder and REM Pod were placed inside the shed.

Preliminary Observations:

No elevated EMF levels detected anywhere in the home after thorough review, which is unusual for older wiring.

West side eaves showed evidence of animal nesting but no animals observed.

Significant traffic noise from Highway 29, which contaminated much of the audio captured that night.

Indoor temperature consistent at 68 °F throughout the evening.

Replication Attempts:

Investigator Zuke went into the storage area and jumped/stomped on the floor while the rest of the team listened from the dining room beneath. The insulation between floors blocked most of the sound, so stomping/pacing noises could not be replicated.

Trigger Session:

A quiet “listening session” was held after Investigator Thelen-Brazier played music from the prior owner’s era in hopes of eliciting a response. The EMF Tripwire in the kitchen would light up unexpectedly, as would “cat balls,” despite no visible movement nearby.

Estes EVP Session – Basement:

This was the only Estes session transcribed at this time. Responses often linked to questions: for example, “weak” was heard before asking “who is weak?”

Notable exchanges:

Q: “Why don’t stay? Because of you?” → A: “Unsafe” / “Darkness”

Q: “What can the darkness do?” → A: “Very strong”

Q: “Are you protecting this family?” → A: “Mine” / “You’ll be cold”

Q: “What causes the cold?” → A: “Turn around” / “A gun”

Q: “Window to where?” → A: “Outside”

All words received, in order:

Explain • Silent • Please • Weak • No • Don’t stay • Unsafe • Darkness • Very strong • Fear • I’ll stay • Mine • You’ll be cold • Turn around • A gun • I don’t • Window • Outside

Evidence Collected:

REM Pod in the shed triggered repeatedly with no visible cause.

At 6:25 PM and 6:28 PM, the storage room door connected to V.M.’s room opened on its own. Door had been pulled tight but not latched due to camera wiring; no breeze or windows open.

During Estes session in the storage room, Investigator Christiansen’s iPhone made an unexplained beeping sound while in airplane mode with only the voice recorder app open; sound has never been replicated.

Near the end of the night, Investigator Boller recorded possible footsteps—paced and uneven, possibly cane-assisted—in the south upper bedroom while the team was sitting quietly. No one else was moving at the time.

Conclusion:

Due to the high amount of traffic noise from Highway 29 during the investigation period (5:00 PM – 12:00 AM CST, Saturday), much of the audio was contaminated. For this reason, we recommend a follow-up investigation at a different time of day — ideally late evening into the early morning hours — when traffic is minimal. This would allow for cleaner audio review and potentially more conclusive evidence.

Despite the home’s age and original wiring, no elevated EMF levels were detected anywhere in the structure. In older homes, elevated EMF can often account for symptoms such as headaches, vivid dreams, or feelings of being watched; its absence here removes one of the most common natural explanations for the activity reported.

Attempts to recreate the stomping/pacing from the storage room while listening from the dining room below were unsuccessful. Even with significant force applied directly to the storage room floor, the insulation between floors blocked most of the noise — suggesting that the reported sounds could not have been generated through ordinary footfalls in that space.

We were unable to replicate the unusual shadow patterns captured in K.M.’s photo outside her bedroom window. Lighting conditions were tested, but no natural cause was identified.

The REM Pod in the shed triggered repeatedly with no environmental explanation, the storage room door opened on its own twice without draft or human interaction, and the unexplained iPhone beeping incident during an Estes EVP session remains anomalous. In addition, the possible cane-like footsteps captured in the upstairs south bedroom occurred while all investigators were stationary, further supporting the possibility of an external or unexplained source.

At this stage, WPRS cannot identify non-paranormal causes for the activity experienced. The combination of multiple witness accounts, environmental anomalies, and documented investigative findings suggests that further research and monitoring are warranted.

We recommend:

  • Follow-up investigation during off-peak traffic hours to reduce noise contamination.

  • Additional camera coverage in and around the shed to further document anomalous REM Pod activity.

  • Environmental monitoring over an extended period (e.g., data logging EMF and temperature changes) to determine if patterns correlate with reported activity.

  • Historical research follow-up into ownership transitions post-1939 for possible events or patterns connected to the property.

  • Until further data is gathered, the events documented remain unexplained.
