We again returned to the Elks Lodge for our 12th investigation of the building in hopes of obtaining additional paranormal evidence. I was accompanied by investigators Brazier, Scheibe, and Christiansen. We obtained permission from the lodge to investigate as it was their annual shutdown week, which means no one else would be onsite during our investigation. We arrived at the site at 4PM and began our investigation.

During past investigations the ballroom and third floor area have been paranormal hotspots. Several times in the past we have obtained EVP’s from these areas as well as actual paranormal sightings or photographs. We decided to use our wired DVR camera system for this evening’s investigation. Camera placement was as follows. Ballroom lobby facing east, dining room facing north, Antler Room facing south and main lobby facing east. Investigator Christiansen placed two stand-alone cameras of her own. One facing southwest from the ballroom stage and the other facing southeast from the stage. A trap camera was placed facing “Charlie’s Heaven” on the 4th level of the lodge. A Go Pro IR camera was used by investigator Blaschka during our investigation with several dozen photos taken throughout the building. Blaschka also shot three dozen photos with an old school 35 MM camera loaded with colored film. A Rem Pod was placed in the ballroom lobby area and the Antler room. A motion detector was placed at the bottom of the staircase by Charlies Heaven and two were placed in the ballroom.         

During the investigation many orbs were detected via DVR. I think it’s probable that most of that activity (orbs) can be explained as dust due to the air conditioning system operating throughout the building. However, at 10:57PM a very slow-moving blinking orb was monitored by us on DVR moving through the Antler room. At 11:41PM a very slow and bright orb was monitored by us on DVR moving through the dining room. These two sightings seemed different. Both orbs were very bright, slow moving and seemed to move with intent.

Four EVP sessions were conducted during the evening. Two in the ballroom lobby, one in the member lobby and one in the Antler room. During one of our sessions in the ballroom lobby our REM Pod reacted to several of our questions. During the session Blaschka felt an obvious tug on his shirt behind his left shoulder. No one was behind him at the time and we could not explain the anomaly. The REM Pod continued to be very active in this area early in the evening and then it went silent for the remainder of the night.

During this investigation we decided to conduct several quite listening sessions. The sessions were conducted in the ballroom entrance (twice), Antler room, main lobby, and basement bar. Nothing conclusive was noted during any of the quite listening sessions.

Upon review of all the EVP sessions nothing paranormal was captured. Review of all DVR and standalone camera systems provided very little activity. Only the two previously noted orbs were captured and may be paranormal in nature. The DVR system detected motion several times between 8:28PM to 8:45PM in the main lobby and antler room, but nothing was seen visually on camera upon review. The trap camera that was placed in front of Charlies Heaven did not capture any unexplained photographs. None of the motion or vibration sensors detected any unexplainable movement. Only one photograph captured in the basement bar by investigator Scheibe showed what looks like a reflection of a possible face. After careful study of the photo we could not conclusively determine if it is paranormal in nature. Unfortunately, none of investigator Blaschka’s 35 MM film developed any photos. The investigation was concluded at 1AM. We plan to continue to investigate the site in the future to try and collect any evidence possible.
