Homestead on 52 - Nutterville, Wi
Investigation: 08/09/2025
(Note: Any photographs, video or audio EVPs can be found at the end of this documentation.)
Synopsis
The building was built in 1878 and functioned as a saloon, post office, boarding house and general store. Currently the location serves as a tavern that entertains venues and dining. Historical elements such as the 100 plus year old cooler and wagon wheel taps still grace the property.
Paranormal activity has been reported. Sightings of a ghostly apparition of a man in an 18th century style long duster coat with hat, a woman wearing a white dress, shadow figures and unexplained noises coming from the attic space. In the past the attic was a second-story dance hall prior to a fire that damaged parts of the building in the late 19th century. The second story was removed in 1936, and the dance floor was rebuilt on the ground level.
Other paranormal claims reported are hearing voices around the establishment, knocks and banging, door handles rattling on their own, objects being moved by unseen hands, unexplained door alarms, security cameras detecting motion and strange orbs in the ballroom.
Investigation
The WPRS investigated on August 9th, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Investigators present were Beaudry, Blaschka, Christensen, Boller, Schiebe, Brazier and Brown.
Equipment used during the investigation included a digital DVR camera system, R.E.M. pods, EMF detectors, tri-field EMF meters, K2 EMF meter, Polaroid camera, 360 audio recorder, GoPro camera, infrared camera, motion detectors, vibration detectors, digital recorders, trail camera and walkie talkies.
Motion detectors were placed in the basement ballroom and doorways. Vibration detectors placed on the basement steps, EMF detectors placed on the ballroom stage and bar, and a 360 audio recorder placed in the attic space. Various other equipment was placed near the camera locations around the establishment.
Camera Placement
• Camera #1 - bar
• Camera #2 - kitchen area
• Camera #3 - employee side door entrance
• Camera #4 - basement
• Camera #5 - ballroom
During the evening the team performed several different techniques to find evidence of paranormal phenomenon. EVP sessions were conducted in the ballroom. Estes session was conducted while recreating a bar room atmosphere with team members. A silent listening session was conducted throughout the building.
Evidence
All video, audio and photographs were analyzed, and no substantial evidence of paranormal phenomenon was found during the evening. Investigators had no unique or personal experiences. During the recreation bar simulation, the REM Pod that was placed in the bar and ballroom did pick up brief electromagnetic field disturbances. One anomalous photograph was captured with an infrared camera in the bar area but is inconclusive as actual evidence.
Conclusion
We considered the vast history of this location dating back to 1878, the numerous people and businesses that once occupied this establishment, the reports of paranormal activity from current and previous owners, and patrons alike. Based on that information it is highly likely that the property has some degree of intelligent activity taking place. The WPRS team was unable to capture any conclusive evidence during the evening. Further investigations of the site may validate the reports of phenomenon that’s being experienced. We hope to revisit the site soon.
